Monthly Regional Tourism Estimates
Monthly Regional Tourism Estimates (MRTE’s) are based on electronic card transaction data and provide regular updates on domestic and international tourism spend at a regional level.

The International Visitor Survey (IVS) measures the expenditure, characteristics and behaviours of international visitors to New Zealand.
International Tourism Forecasts
Since 1999, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment has produced forecasts annually for a seven-year projection period. The current forecasts cover the period to 2024.
The forecasts provide expectations on the future tourism demand in New Zealand. The forecasts are intended to support the tourism sector and government in decision making and planning.
Accommodation Survey
The Accommodation Survey, previously known as the Commercial Accommodation Monitor (CAM), provides data from a monthly accommodation census of commercial accommodation providers. The information includes guest nights, occupancy rates, accommodation type and origin of guest (international & domestic).
Monthly National Key Tourism Statistics
MBIE provides a summary fact sheet of each of the key tourism statistics for New Zealand. It is updated regularly throughout each month as new data is released.
